Hot summer days in Prague often mean crowded swimming pools, long queues, and searching for the last free spot on the blanket. However, it only takes a few kilometers outside the city to discover places where clean water, nature, and a much calmer atmosphere await you. We have selected five tips for natural swimming near Prague – from flooded quarries to sandpits hidden among the trees.

An established holiday not only for comics is heading to Brno for the fifth time! Comic-Con Brno & Junior will take place from November 13 to 15, 2026, at the Brno Exhibition Centre and will traditionally offer three days full of domestic and international stars, pop culture, sci-fi, fantasy, games, books, and other entertainment for the whole family. The organizers are also behind the largest Czech pop culture festival, Comic-Con Prague, which welcomed over 28,000 visitors this year at the Prague O2 universe. The program will once again include the popular book fair Kniha Brno.

The exhibition "The Přemyslids. The Royal Dynasty and Its Era" is the main exhibition project of the National Museum for the year 2026 and is also one of the key cultural events of the year in both the Czech and Central European context. Brno will experience an exceptional summer this year. Prague Zoo welcomes new additions outside of its Troja area as well. After two Przewalski's horse foals born in the Gobi exhibit, a colt has also been born at Dívčí hrady. For the very first time, the herd of European bison in Prague's Dolní Počernice has expanded. These largest land mammals in Europe, which nearly went extinct in the past, have only inhabited the spacious enclosure since last autumn. Visitors have the best chance of seeing the calf around ten to eleven o'clock in the morning.

Prague Zoo is returning to the Union of Czech and Slovak Zoos (UCSZOO). The general assembly of this organization decided on the re-admission of Prague Zoo on Thursday, May 21. Thus, after almost four years, Prague Zoo has once again become a full member of this national association.
