From Český Brod to the National Museum
Take the train to Český Brod, as it lies on a busy railway line, and for example, you will definitely get there faster from the center of Prague than by car. Hardly have you hopped on your bike when the gates of the first brewery open before you. The nearly 150-year-old brewery in Český Brod has gone through tough times and was closed for a long time during the previous regime. It was only recently revived, and you can enjoy its beer in the garden, which is open exclusively in the summer months.
Your second stop will not be so close; you will ride all the way to the National Museum, but don’t worry, it’s not the National Museum in Prague, but rather the National Museum of Brewing in Kostelec nad Černými lesy. Before you get there, you will cover approximately 11 kilometers and 200 meters in elevation. At the Černokostelecký Brewery, you will be able to see the malt houses, machinery room, brew house, hop yard, and many other spaces and equipment necessary for producing the best beer.
For Unconventional Beers in Úvaly
Through the Šembery valley and via the villages of Masojedy and Přišimasy, you will arrive in Úvaly. At the local Libertas brewery, you will finally quench your thirst, as no more kilometers await you on your bike. Besides classic lagers, they pride themselves on brewing various specialties.
You can take home limited editions of strong beers aged for several months in wooden barrels previously used for Calvados and cognac. You can satisfy your hunger with a Czech sausage or goose pâté, and if you still have some strength left, stop by the nearby Vinice lookout tower.
