Discover Prague from a new perspective at Dinner in the Clouds!
Make the beginning of September more enjoyable with an extraordinary gastronomic experience. The globally popular Dinner in the Sky will dock in Prague from September 4 to 14 at Mrázovka Park. The creative menu inspired by Indian summer will be prepared by Slovak chef Peter Slačka. Imagine sitting comfortably in a padded chair, breaking bread, and discussing with the waiter the suitable wine for the meal that is being prepared for you. With a glass in hand, you observe Vyšehrad, Emauzy, the Petřín lookout tower, and Strahov Stadium. You just need to turn slightly. How is this possible?
Dinner in the Sky combines a fine dining restaurant with a view from 40 meters high. Since the table for 22 guests is secured to a crane, it can be lifted anywhere there is enough space. This year it will dock in Mrázovka Park, near the Sokol and the lower station of the NH Prague City hotel cable car. From a bird's eye view, you will see Smíchov, including the Vltava River and the opposite embankment with Vyšehrad, Podskalí, and the skyscrapers of Pankrác. On the other side, Petřín and Strahov will gradually be revealed. Any fear of heights will be alleviated by champagne before takeoff, safety belts in the seats, and a net under the table and chairs.
You sit comfortably around a table, in the center of which the chef prepares your dishes on 2 m². You can enjoy a three-course lunch, a four-course dinner at sunset, or a late dinner under the stars. This year, chef Peter Slačka, a shining star of Slovak gastronomy, will make an appearance on the platform at a height of 40 meters. He has gathered experience in fine dining restaurants in Australia, Portugal, Sweden, and the UK, before returning to his native Bratislava to enrich the local gastronomy scene with modern Slovak cuisine featuring fusion elements from around the world. He became a chef by chance – while studying, he worked part-time at a gyros stand and realized how much he enjoyed it when people liked his food. He then joined the renowned Bratislava restaurant Karibik and the newly opened Kempinski hotel. After stints in Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide, he opened the Baroza restaurant and, after paternity leave, the breakfast bistro Jolk, which operated as a pop-up for four months. He created a menu for the bar Kwāntu in London, ranked among the TOP 50 best bars in the world. This summer, he is preparing the menu for Dinner in the Sky, which returns to Bratislava after a break. You can view the city from above with excellent food from August 14 to 17.
Peter Slačka has prepared the same menu for both locations, differing only in locally available seasonal ingredients. The base consists of the flavors of Indian summer. You will be treated to ceviche with a delicate hint of horseradish. This is followed by kulajda enriched with buckwheat and specially prepared egg yolk, or in the case of the three-course menu, tender veal cheek with caramelized apple and topinambur chips with hazelnuts. Vegetarians will enjoy eggplant ceviche and roasted cauliflower with burnt apple and topinambur chips. The sweet conclusion in the form of raspberry crème brûlée with pink pepper will send you to heaven with a minty icy breath.
Lunch or dinner in the sky is served only during the first two extended weekends in September – from September 4 to 7 and from September 12 to 14. You can come for a three-course lunch, a four-course dinner, or a sunset dinner. The price for the menu, including drinks and a welcome drink, starts at 3,190 CZK per person. This year, there is also a new offer – a shorter version of the experience with dessert and prosecco for 2,000 crowns. Reservations are required, as well as pre-selection of the menu – meat or vegetarian. Reservation of the date, including the selected menu, is necessary at https://reservations.dinnerinthesky.cz/rezervace/.
