The current year's National Wine Competition is starting. Tomorrow, the evaluations of wines across the regions will begin.

The nomination rounds of the National Wine Competition 2025 will kick off on Tuesday, July 29, and will last until the end of August. Professional tasters will evaluate nearly three thousand samples during the series of assessments and select the best wines from individual wine sub-regions, from which the Champion of the Wine Salon of the Czech Republic for 2026 will emerge. The largest and most prestigious wine competition in the Czech Republic is organized by the Czech Wine Association with financial support from the Wine Fund and technical support from the National Wine Center.

PRAGUE ZOO REPRODUCES SMALLER CONDOR FOR THE FIRST TIME USING THE "MANÁSKOVÁ" METHOD

At the Prague Zoo hatchery, caregivers now wear a special glove every day. They are feeding a young Andean condor with an exceptionally realistic puppet that imitates the head of an adult. Its parents have stopped nesting activity, and the goal now is to raise the chick to adulthood in the most natural way possible and prevent imprinting on humans. Prague Zoo is one of three zoos in Europe that breeds this species.
