Heroes' Day 2025 at the Exhibition Center: stories of public service at the podcast stage and a humanitarian base for the first time in Prague!

Heroes' Day 2025 at the Exhibition Center: stories of public service at the podcast stage and a humanitarian base for the first time in Prague!

The Prague Exhibition Grounds will host the 10th anniversary of the Heroes' Day event this year, which has long been dedicated to the theme of civil protection and the work of integrated rescue services. It will take place on September 27th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the lower part of the Exhibition Grounds and in Křižík's Pavilion B. The main attraction of this year's edition is a unique premiere at this location – the Material Base for Humanitarian Aid, which the public will see in its full extent for the very first time.

New edition

The material base of humanitarian aid represents a complex system that can provide accommodation, clothing, food, hygiene, health, and psychosocial assistance, as well as other essential services to people affected by extraordinary events. The construction is ensured by the Fire Rescue Service of the Capital City of Prague in cooperation with the Medical Rescue Service of the Capital City of Prague, the Police of the Czech Republic, the Municipal Police of the Capital City of Prague, the Magistrate of the Capital City of Prague, and the Czech Red Cross.

Visitors will have two forms of tours available:

  • Guided tour – offers an authentic experience of the entire space, including access to sectors that will otherwise not be open to the public. Groups of a maximum of 20 people, duration approximately 60 minutes. Intended for adults and children aged 10 and older.
  • Free tour – the base will be open to all visitors without the need for registration. At each sector, there will be staff available to answer questions and inform the public about operations. A printed guide and QR codes linking to detailed information on the website will be available. Ideal for families with children.

One of the main program innovations is the podcast stage featuring stories of everyday heroes and their services to society or assistance in crisis situations. Podcast guests will share their personal experiences and behind-the-scenes work that often remains hidden from ordinary people.

Hurvínek is celebrating 100 and has a gift for everyone:

In the new film adventure, the whole family is taken to Tramtárie. This year, the legendary Hurvínek turns one hundred! However, he is definitely not ready for the scrap heap, or rather, the woodpile. For his centenary, he has gifted himself a new film adventure. This time, he and Mánička will travel all the way to distant Tramtárie, where they must save not only their four-legged friend Žeryk, who is on the menu of a greedy carnivore, but also fix the broken water cycle. To uncover why a devastating drought has struck the kingdom, they need to understand how nature works. Such knowledge can be useful not only to them but also to all the little and big viewers. Therefore, accept the invitation to Hurvínek's journey to Tramtárie; tickets will be available in cinemas from April 16.
