A person lacks 0.5 ‰ of alcohol in their blood for happiness since birth. It's time to fix that! A brutal Nordic comedy.
Four friends, high school teachers (of history, music education, physical education, and psychology) have long resigned themselves in both their professional and private lives to their life goals and dreams. They have been caught up in burnout, and thus survive in the monotonous routine of daily duties. Until one day, at the celebration of the youngest among them's 40th birthday, they learn about a quirky theory from a Norwegian philosopher. It claims that a person is born with a deficit of half a per mille of alcohol in their blood. If they were to replenish it, their life would immediately be more colorful, they would have much greater self-confidence, be more creative, and overall more satisfied and happier. Given the stagnation of their lives in both professional and private spheres, as well as their long-standing resignation from all their life goals and dreams, they decide to test this thought experiment in practice. After all, there must be something to it, since Winston Churchill, Arthur Rimbaud, Ernest Hemingway, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Jackson Pollock, Charles Bukowski, and many others practically always had alcohol in their blood. Martin, Nikolaj, Peter, and Tommy thus buy alcohol and breathalyzers. The experiment can begin… It seems that the theory really works! So why not increase the doses? Logically, it should also lead to an amplification of all those positive results. And then, all that remains is to achieve the so-called ignition!
