The Elektrárna Brewery is celebrating five years with the anniversary special Cheers2Five APA.

The history of the Plzeň brewery Elektrárna began five years ago – on September 29, 2020, when the first batch was brewed as part of a trial operation. The Elektrárna team created the anniversary beer Cheers2Five APA in honor of the jubilee, which will premiere on September 5 at the beer and cultural festival Brústok in the courtyard of Plzeňský Prazdroj.

New edition

Cheers2Five APA is a joint effort of the entire team at the Elektrárna brewery, from the recipe to the brewing process, and even the name and label. The label, created by Johana Houbová, symbolically features not only a drawing of the brewery building but also the signatures of all the creators. They will also participate in the ceremonial tapping of the first barrel of the anniversary special, which is scheduled for 5 PM during the Saturday festival Brústok .

The anniversary beer Cheers2Five APA brewed according to Honza Kozlík's recipe is our celebration of teamwork, friendship, and hop passion. Every sip is like a toast to the celebration – fresh, juicy, and unforgettable. Five years of experiments, five years of joy, five years with you. Cheers2Five APA is our toast to everyone who shares our passion for beer,” says the director of the Elektrárna brewery, Michal Škoda, to all supporters.

In addition to the Brústok festival, the anniversary beer will also be available in cans at the Gift Shop of Plzeňský Prazdroj and in the Pivotéka at the Brewery Museum. The Cheers2Five APA special will be offered on tap at selected establishments in Plzeň, Prague, and Moravia.

During the five years of the Elektrárna brewery's existence, we have brewed more than fifty types of beer and have joyfully experimented – from using various types of spices and fruits to aging in barrels previously used for wine and whiskey. We have supported events and initiatives such as Movember, Prague Pride, and Pink Boots. Our specials have also been created for festivals like Obscene Extreme, Brutal Assault, for the bands Tři sestry and Iron Maiden, as well as for České dráhy and the Freedom Festival in Plzeň. We have participated in hundreds of events – not only large festivals like Colours of Ostrava and Rock for People but also smaller local beer festivals where we could personally introduce our beers to people,” summarizes Michal Škoda.

Celebrating the 5th anniversary is also an exhibition that visitors will see during guided tours of the Elektrárna brewery starting in September. The exhibition highlights the history of the brewery's location – the building of the former power plant, and especially five years of its existence, as well as the people associated with it. “Energy-packed tours” take place regularly on Fridays at 4:30 PM and on Saturdays at 2:45 PM.

The HackFood brand was born from the belief that the true functionality of food does not arise from isolating individual substances, but from understanding their natural connections. In an environment where it is common to extract a single molecule, standardize it, and add it to a neutral base, HackFood represents the opposite approach.
