HackFood: Functional honeys created at the intersection of nature and research

The HackFood brand was born from the belief that the true functionality of food does not arise from isolating individual substances, but from understanding their natural connections. In an environment where it is common to extract a single molecule, standardize it, and add it to a neutral base, HackFood represents the opposite approach. Honey is not reduced to a sweetener, but is understood as a complex biological matrix with its own functional potential.

New edition

HackFood connects regional raw materials with a research approach and creates functional honeys designed for everyday use. It is not a dietary supplement disguised as food, but a food developed with respect for biological complexity.

Two founders, one approach

Behind the brand are two people with complementary expertise.

Marián Hýbl acts as a technologist and developer, translating scientific knowledge into specific recipes. He focuses on the stability of bioactive substances, their synergy, and bioavailability to ensure that the final product has a rationally defensible benefit. His work does not only involve creating attractive flavor combinations but also systematically developing functional food.

Daniel Kotrba ensures the strategic development of the brand, business direction, and communication with partners. He brings entrepreneurial structure and the ability to translate expert concepts into understandable value for customers. Together, they create connections between research and practice.

We do not isolate substances. We expand the honey matrix

HackFood works with honey as an active biological medium, not as a neutral carrier. Quality Czech honey from regional sources forms the basis of every recipe, and its natural structure is preserved through a gentle production process at low temperatures. Preserving enzymatic and polyphenolic activity is considered a key prerequisite for functionality.

Additional natural ingredients are selected to synergistically cooperate with the honey matrix. It is not about isolating individual extracts, but about thoughtfully expanding the original biological system. Each recipe is created with a clearly defined goal, whether it is to support immunity, vitality, regeneration, or overall balance of the organism. Flavor remains important, but it stems from the primary function of the product.

Regional origin and gentle production

The foundation is honey from regional sources and a controlled production process that minimizes thermal load. Low-temperature processing allows for the preservation of sensitive bioactive components and the natural structure of honey. This approach is based on the belief that technological precision is an integral part of biological functionality.

HackFood simultaneously emphasizes systematic research and development. In collaboration with academic institutions, long-term optimization of recipes and production parameters is underway. Part of the development includes measuring antioxidant activity, monitoring antimicrobial potential, and evaluating the stability of bioactive substances over time. The obtained data serves as a basis for further adjustments to compositions and technological processes.

Honeys for immunity, colds, and everyday balance

In HackFood's offer, you can find, for example, honey with spruce shoots and mint, suitable for colds and supporting the respiratory tract, Ayurvedic honey inspired by traditional principles of balance, or honeys with fruits and nuts that combine flavor with natural antioxidant content. The products are designed to become a natural part of everyday rituals – on a spoon, in tea, or as a functional dietary supplement.

The goal is to offer a natural alternative to isolated dietary supplements in the form of food that can be easily incorporated into a regular routine.

A new generation of functional honeys

HackFood is also working on a new line of functional honeys focused on supporting longevity, particularly joint health, hair, and regeneration. These products are currently in the development and testing phase, with their market launch planned for the near future.

Also in development are strongly antimicrobial honeys, harmonizing and stimulating variants, and other specialized products that further expand the possibilities of working with the honey matrix. The aim is to gradually introduce a portfolio that will offer even more precisely targeted functional solutions for specific needs of the organism.

HackFood shows that functional foods can have flavor, origin, and a scientific basis – and that real functionality arises where nature and research meet in balance.
