Czech footprint on the world stage of Formula 1

OnMay 4th of this year LEGO and Formula 1 made history during the drivers' paradeat the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Miami. Part of the parade included ten fully functional LEGO cars in lifesize – one for each team. The cars were driven by the Formula 1 drivers themselves which made the whole event even more unforgettable. The LEGO cars showcased the creativity, innovation, and engineering skill that liesbehind LEGO building sets. They inspired both children and adults and proved that with a little imagination and a LEGO brickeverything is possible.

These fascinating models were created by a team of 26 experienced designers and engineers at LEGO. The entire process took over22,000 hours and took place in the LEGO factory in Kladno, Czech Republic. The models are almost in 1:1 scale with Formula 1 cars, each consisting of nearly 400,000 LEGO bricks, weighing 1 ,500 kg and capable of driving at speeds of up to 20 km/h. They managed to capture the intricate and unique details of the Formula 1 cars, fromsponsor logos to authentic Pirelli tires.
