The Kutná Hora Gallery GASK will come alive with music.

Kutná Hora will be the venue for the A Day of Sound festival on Saturday, June 14, 2025, organized this year by the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region (GASK) as part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the city's inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The festival will connect music and visual arts in the spaces of three historical sites – the Jesuit college, the Chapel of the Body of Christ, and St. James' Church. Visitors can expect concerts of both old and contemporary music, audiovisual performances, sound and art-filled walks, as well as music workshops for children. A special space will be dedicated to a "sound cinema" in the baroque pharmacy of the Jesuit college and a site-specific video projection in St. James' Church.

New edition

The program will feature prominent Czech and international performers: Canadian artist Nicolas Bernier will present a captivating audiovisual performance in the refectory of the Jesuit college, soprano Barbora Kabátková will perform Gregorian chant in the Chapel of the Body of Christ along with the trio Romanovská – Tichý – Hrubý, and under the artistic direction of composer Jan Trojan, top saxophonist Miroslav Tóth, accordionist Roman Zabelov, and audiovisual artist Linda Arbanová will perform in St. James' Church. The concluding concert of the entire day will be provided by Austrian composer Klaus Lang, who will present liturgical compositions from early French medieval times in his organ concert, as well as his own compositions for organ intertwined with improvisation. Throughout the day of music, visitors can look forward to sound walks through the permanent exhibition of GASK, guided by Italian percussionist Elia Moretti along with the exhibition curators.

The festival is accessible with a ticket to the changing exhibitions of GASK, which also includes entry to the permanent exhibition Labyrinth and current exhibitions.
