However, she will definitely not be just someone’s creation. One World annually highlights various forms of human rights violations and places current global events in broader contexts. This year’s program will offer films discussing the impact of social media or Russian propaganda and will also highlight societal phenomena through individual stories. The festival pays special attention to socio-political changes in neighboring Slovakia. The twenty-seventh edition of the International Human Rights Film Festival will take place in Prague from March 11 to April 24, 2026, followed by Prague Echoes.
The One World festival has been an integral part of the activities of the People in Need organization for more than a quarter of a century. Since its inception in 1999, it has brought documentary films about human rights from around the world to domestic audiences, which are screened in dozens of cities across the republic and also in Czech primary and secondary schools. One World has received honorary recognition from UNESCO for its education on human rights. Each year, dozens of guests from various countries of the world come to it – not only filmmakers but also protagonists and advocates of human rights. Discussions with them are one of the pillars of the program. The organizing team also strives for accessibility for all viewers, including those who are blind and visually impaired, deaf and hard of hearing, or people with reduced mobility.

BREAK A LEG, HAVE FUN, DON’T DIE

The film crew closely documented her career and personal dramas that she went through alongside her husband. From shaping Czechoslovak capitalism at the family table, through visits from world leaders, to the position of ambassador. A kind portrait of an extraordinary woman reveals her view of a world dominated primarily by humanity and a sense of protection for the weak.

DANCE WITH A BEAR

The film focuses on the story of the nun before she became a globally recognized figure. Its aim is to explore the real person behind the myth of Mother Teresa, revealing her complexity, ambitions, and inner struggles.
