The art workshop for youth and adults will be inspired by Turkish ceramics with floral patterns.
Ottoman ceramics reached their peak in the 16th century in the production in the Turkish city of Iznik. They were characterized by rich floral patterns, initially inspired by Chinese porcelain, later reflecting local Turkish flowers, especially tulips, carnations, hyacinths, and roses. These adorned not only ceramic vessels but also tiles used in the decoration of Ottoman architecture. At the beginning of the workshop, you will be briefly introduced to the history and decorative repertoire of Turkish Iznik ceramics through a short presentation, followed by a look at selected pieces in the permanent exhibition "Art of Asia Across Space and Time" with curator Kristýna Rendlová. Subsequently, inspired by the observed works, you will design your own floral motif and paint it on a ceramic tile under the guidance of artist Hana Černá. Due to the materials used, the workshop is not suitable for children under 13 years old and pregnant women. Price: 800 CZK / 700 CZK for students, seniors, and members of the Friends of the NGP Club and for ZTP P upon presentation of a card / (the price includes necessary materials) / Duration: 240 min. / Meeting place: at the ticket office of Salm Palace / Reservation.
