The headliner of the Sunday program will be Divokej Bill, a band whose blend of rock, folk, and Celtic music can sell out the O2 arena. Adam Karlík, who is responsible for the violin and vocals in the band, answered a few questions for us.
You have played at the Mezi ploty festival several times. What is your reason for supporting this event?
We like the Mezi ploty festival. It has always been a somewhat different festival with a unique atmosphere. In today’s complex and fast-paced world, where there is a great emphasis on performance and the essence of being is somewhat fading, mental health is very important. Therefore, it is necessary to realize this, and for this reason, we are happy to support this event.

Your concerts are very much about energy and shared experiences. What do good relationships within the band mean to you?
It is extremely important. We have been together for almost thirty years. Not everything has always been rosy and perfect. Functioning for thirty years with eight people, each with their own opinions and attitudes, is difficult, but over that time we have learned what we want and where we are going. Of course, respect is important, and being able to make compromises. We are friends; without that, it wouldn’t work. We are very lucky to be able to stick together and still have fun.
You released your last album Bazilišek in 2023. Are you working on something new? And what will you play at the Mezi ploty festival?
Currently, we are rehearsing a lot. In 2028, we will celebrate 30 years of existence. There will be a new album, and we will go on a big tour. We are looking forward to it. At Mezi ploty, we will bring our usual energy. We hope it will be warm and nice; the winter was long. We invite everyone and come enjoy it!
