Besson's prince of darkness is Caleb Landry Jones, whose acting virtuosity Besson discovered for the film DogMan. The priestly robe is worn by Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained), who represents the moral and mystical counterpoint to the main character. The central female role is played by Zoe Bleu, who becomes the key to Dracula's eternal search for love and his damnation.
