Director and screenwriter Luc Besson presents a personal and visually stunning adaptation of one of the most famous myths in world literature and film.
Legendary Luc Besson tells the immortal story of the eternal search for love across the centuries. In the 15th century, Prince Vlad loses his beloved wife. In a moment of despair, he turns away from God and accepts the curse of immortality. He becomes the dark Count Dracula. Condemned to an eternal journey through the centuries, he bears the weight of love and guilt that will never leave him. Four centuries later, in 19th century London, he encounters a woman strikingly similar to his deceased wife. The meeting he has waited for an eternity becomes the beginning of an obsession that could bring him salvation or ruin. Director and screenwriter Luc Besson presents a personal and visually stunning adaptation of one of the most famous myths in world literature and film. His Dracula is a romantic-horror drama that, instead of a caricatured version of the vampire, explores the human origins and inner pain of the immortal being. Besson's prince of darkness is Caleb Landry Jones, whose acting virtuosity Besson discovered for the film DogMan. The priestly robe is worn by Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained), who represents the moral and mystical counterpoint to the main character. The central female role is played by Zoe Bleu, who becomes the key to Dracula's eternal search for love and his damnation.
