OX Club Prague – multifunctional spaces for corporate events and conferences

OX Club Prague – multifunctional spaces for corporate events and conferences

After more than two decades of operation, the legendary Retro Music Hall has transformed into the modern OX Club Prague – a completely new club concept that builds on the history of this iconic space while bringing a fresh breeze to Prague's nightlife. Following a complete renovation, rebranding, and team overhaul, a multifunctional club with a capacity of a thousand people, three stages, and top-notch technical facilities has emerged. OX Club aims to offer visitors not just music and dance, but above all a comprehensive experience that will make them want to return. Even in a time when nightlife faces challenges, it maintains its direction – professionalism, quality, and energy that give Prague a new rhythm.

New edition

OX Club Prague was established at the site of the legendary Retro Music Hall, which was one of the most popular clubs in the country. How do you connect with its history and what has changed after the renovation?

With the change of name and a complete rebranding came an extensive renovation of the club and a change of the entire team. We wanted to create something new and fresh, while also preserving the spirit of the legendary place where people used to gather from all over the country. The spaces received new sound systems, lighting, and a modern interior – from floors and railings to restrooms and furniture. We felt it was time to move forward and bring a club to Prague that corresponds to the present time.

The club has undergone a complete transformation. How would you describe the main vision of OX Club – what kind of experience do you want to offer visitors?

As I mentioned, the goal was to elevate the club to a completely new level – not only visually but also in the approach to visitors. Times have changed, and people are more demanding today. They don’t just want DJs and cheap drinks, but an overall experience that they will remember. Our aim is for everyone to feel good, safe, and to fully enjoy their evening with us. We want people to take home experiences that will make them always want to return to OX Club.

OX Club has three stages and a capacity of around a thousand people. What types of events are you currently hosting here, and which of them are among the most successful?

Throughout the year, we host over two hundred different events, and their scale is really broad. OX Club is designed as a multifunctional space, which we utilize not only for our own program but also for external organizers. Thanks to top-notch technology and experienced staff, we can execute almost any type of event – from conferences, concerts, and corporate parties to sports events, student parties, or theatrical performances. We are prepared for every type of event in terms of production, technology, and personnel.

Times are quite tough for nightlife and clubs right now – people are spending less, and attendance is not what it used to be. How is OX Club coping with this, and how have you had to adapt to the times?

Yes, we too have had to adapt in order to continue functioning. We closely monitor the market situation and see that not only in Prague but across the entire country, clubs and businesses are closing down. There are many reasons for this – from rising costs to the changing behavior of the younger generation, which now spends their free time differently than before. We responded to this situation by expanding the range of events that we organize at OX Club. We do not rely solely on classic parties but also give space to concerts, corporate parties, or special cultural events. This keeps the club lively and attractive throughout the year.

What do you consider to be the biggest challenges in running a modern club in 2025 – is it competition, costs, or rather the change in audience behavior?

All of these factors play a role, and each represents its own challenge. We are in Prague, where competition is enormous, so we strive to do things well and professionally – to deliver exactly what we promise and ideally something extra. This is what we believe sets us apart. Costs are, of course, rising across all areas. Some beverage suppliers, for example, have raised their prices three times in just one year, which inevitably reflects in the final prices at the bar. Nevertheless, we try to remain affordable and offer guests a fair balance between quality and price.

Many visitors ask the question – why the name “OX Club”? Does it have any symbolic meaning?

From the very beginning, we knew that rebranding and changing the name of the legendary Retro Music Hall would evoke various emotions among people. So it wasn’t easy to come up with something new that would be a worthy successor to such a well-known brand. The name of the club is not just about whether we like it – it has to be short, easy to remember, easily searchable online, graphically usable, and of course original. During our search, we went through more than two hundred proposals, which we gradually narrowed down until we arrived at the name OX. It met all our criteria – it is simple, strong, and memorable, exactly how we wanted the new club to be.
