"Let's get to know each other, neighbors" - Parukářka Park, September 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM

The fourteenth edition of the popular festival for families with children "Let's Get to Know Each Other, Neighbors" will take place on September 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the park at Parukářka in Prague 3. The event, focused on mutual understanding of different cultural customs and establishing neighborly relationships, is traditionally organized by the third municipal district.

New edition

For children, there will be gaming stations focused on the cultural diversity of various countries such as Vietnam, Mongolia, Ukraine, or the USA, and significant historical figures and places associated with Prague 3. In addition, they will be able to try creative workshops inspired by traditional Kazakh ornaments and Syrian metalworking, enjoy an African fairy tale, try a juggling workshop, or decorate themselves with airbrush tattoos and face painting.

For parents and children, there will be a diverse tasting of Indonesian, Latin American, and Asian cuisine, including a cooking show. On stage, the band Pragasón will perform, the children's choir Dreamers will present Ukrainian songs, and you will be able to be transported to Asia during the performance of Chinese masters from the Wushu center.

Participants will be introduced to the Indian dance Kathak, and their dancing skills can be improved during a salsa workshop with instructor Jorge Concepcion.

The Prague 3 municipal district collaborates with organizations such as the Center for Integration of Foreigners, InBáze, Integration Center Prague, Association for Integration and Migration, META – support for opportunities in education, Diakonie ČCE, Nová Trojka, and the Wushu Center for the event.

The event is organized as part of the project "Prague 3 - Shared Living 2025" to support the integration of holders of temporary protection co-financed by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and with financial support from the capital city of Prague.

In Prague Zoo, two chicks of the Mindanao bleeding-heart are on display. This is the first breeding of this Philippine endemic in Czech zoos and, above all, the first European breeding of this species in the second generation. This promises further development of breeding and the creation of a backup population in human care. The population of these birds in the wild is declining due to deforestation, hunting, and also illegal trade. According to the IUCN Red List, the Mindanao bleeding-heart is classified as vulnerable, with its numbers having decreased by a fifth over the last decade and continuing to "rapidly decline."
