The Birth of the Alchemist, the only Czech film fairy tale of this year's Christmas, presents its trailer.

At the end of November, on November 27, 2025, the fairy tale story for the whole family, The Birth of the Alchemist, will hit theaters. The creators of the beloved films The Princesses Cursed in Time I, II, and Goldilocks will take the audience into a world full of magic, enchanting potions, and alchemy.

New edition

The gates to the world of Oberon will reopen for all small and large, so that together with twelve-year-old Ariana, they can experience adventures full of magic, friendship, and great secrets. You can watch the trailer HERE.

The world will change, this time it is in the hands of three small children

Twelve-year-old Ariana (Magdalena Müller) has been plagued by misfortune since childhood. Alone in the world with extraordinary magical talent, she ends up in an orphanage, where she must endure many hardships from the other children, as well as bullying from the caretakers. All she longs for is to find her home and discover who her parents were. Her life suddenly turns upside down when an old alchemist, Archivald (Roman Zach), seeks her out. He offers her the chance to enter the school of alchemists, where she finds not only her dream home but also inseparable friends. However, to become a rightful student, she must pass the entrance exams. Young alchemists Lora (Sára Korbelová) and Mertur (Cyril Dobrý) prepare her for those. At school, she will encounter not only new knowledge and friendships but also ancient secrets. And when the witch Murien (Simona Zmrzlá) appears, Ariana must risk everything to uncover the truth about her past.

„Your magic. Your school. Your home.“

These are the words that best characterize their joint creation of adventurous fairy tales about inseparable friendship, old secrets, and what it truly means to have a home, say the creators Petr Kubík and Lukáš Daniel Pařík. „When I was a child, films with child heroes meant more to me than just entertainment. They were stories that I felt as if I were living them. And that experience is what I wanted to bring to the Birth of the Alchemist. Heartwarming fairy tales about children, for children, that lead them to a new school of alchemy and into the world of the Princess cursed in time,” says director, screenwriter, and producer Petr Kubík. According to co-director, composer, and screenwriter Lukáš Daniel Pařík, the film aims to appeal not only to child viewers:  „This story is different. I think it is even closer to children than the original Princesses, simply because the central trio this time consists of children. However, I am sure it will touch anyone who has ever searched for their place in the world. And that is a current theme at any age.“

Actress Sára Korbelová describes her role: „The alchemist Lora is optimistic, a bit crazy, but kind-hearted. At first, she cannot imagine herself or Mertur in the role of teachers responsible for little Ariana, but she gradually understands that it was meant to be that way. Thanks to Ariana and their shared adventures, she learns a lot and will fight for her new 'family' until her last breath. Lora is very close to my heart, she is funny, and I believe that the audience will love her too.“

Familiar faces return to the world of the Princess cursed in time

The film The Birth of the Alchemist will bring back familiar characters from both mentioned parts of the Princesses cursed in time. In addition to Archivald, Roman Zach, viewers can look forward to Sára Korbelová (Lora), Cyril Dobrý (Mertur), and Murien Simona Zmrzlá. The cast will also be joined by Anna Jiřina Daňhelová, Tomáš Novotný, Kryštof Koníček, Veronika Bartáková, Elizabeth Kubík, and others.

The film The Birth of the Alchemist was created in cooperation with FTV Prima.
