The new album by Island Mint titled Slun is out, and the band will celebrate its release on October 31 at MeetFactory.

The second studio album by the band Island Mint titled SLUN has been available for listening on all streaming platforms since midnight today. The Prague indie group is releasing new music after three years, a hundred concerts, and is taking a harder sound. The album launch will take place on Friday, October 31, at the Prague club MeetFactory, together with the rock’n’roll band Branko’s Bridge. "With the new album, our live show has completely changed. At MeetFactory, we will present Island Mint in a new, sharper form for the first time, and we look forward to the fans' reactions," invites the band's frontman Matyáš Adámek, further explaining: “The new album features elements of trip-hop, downtempo, country, and stoner rock, with electronic elements seamlessly blending with acoustic instruments.” The album SLUN is the result of exploring the boundaries of how disparate elements the band can combine into a cohesive whole, and it overall carries a dirtier vibe.

New edition

The latest tasting published so far from the new album Slun was the music video for the single ‘Tunnel Vision’ directed by Jiří Rendla, which premiered on October 3rd. The band is now preparing for its historically largest solo concert, where fans will hear the entire new album live for the first time, but they can also look forward to favorite songs from the first album. There will be no shortage of a contagiously relaxed atmosphere, a sense of play with sound, and careful production that is characteristic of the band. Delicate melodies telling imaginative stories are also typical – Island Mint builds its musical world from the ground up according to its own vision. The genre mixes surf rock with psychedelia, shoegaze, and garage energy.

The album SLUN was recorded at Andel Sound studio under the guidance of producer (and current frontman of the band) Matyáš Adámek together with Jakub Bolbol, while the final master was handled by Jan Vančík in London, and the album cover was designed by Ema Chamulová (Dizzy Eyes). The album was preceded by four singles (Man of the People, Tsunami, Fool Around, Tunnel Vision). The exotic visuals and sound palette of the single Man of the People, with a music video filmed in Morocco, prove that for a strong musical story, Island Mint is willing to go all the way to the ends of the earth.

In 2024, Island Mint convinced the jury of Radio Wave, which named them winners of the Czeching competition and sent them to the largest European showcase festival Eurosonic Noorderslag 2024 as the most relevant project of the current Czech scene. Last year, Island Mint also went on a Balkan tour.
