Dramox heals with theater – free access for everyone who needs it.

The idea behind Dramox.cz was to support theater culture and bring theater closer to people. Similarly, Dramox also supports those who have a hard time in life. “We believe that theater has the power to heal, inspire, and provide relief in difficult times. That’s why we offer free access to theater on Dramox.cz where care is provided for children, seniors, the sick, disadvantaged, or otherwise in need – whether you are a hospital, children's home, day center, or foundation, reach out to us, we would be happy to help,” explains the director of Dramox, Martin Zavadil.

We are helping right now – join us

Even now, Dramox is helping dozens of institutions and organizations. Thanks to our collaboration with Alza, we have donated tablets to hospitals in Plzeň, Ostrava, and Brno. Patients in various departments, from rehabilitation to pediatrics and oncology, can comfortably watch theater performances of their choice and pass the time during their hospitalization. In several psychiatric wards, Dramox is a welcome activity, as patients otherwise wouldn't have the chance to experience theater. We are also newly collaborating with the Children's Psychiatric Hospital in Opařany. “Overall, I find the possibility of screening theater performances for children to be a great idea. We try to provide children with the context of the performance and also use the themes to shape their self-perception and help them articulate their opinions and attitudes in a non-judgmental way. It is also a space for cultivating expression and supporting the creativity of clients. I dare say that for some children, this may be their only contact with theater. Similarly, for children who are hospitalized for a long time, it is a good way to maintain contact with the outside world,” says therapist Ms. Katarína Vrbová from the Opařany Children's Psychiatric Hospital.

Among the enthusiastic audience are senior clients from various care centers. They no longer feel up to visiting the theater, but they still enjoy culture. And we are happy to fulfill that for them.

Theater performances for children from the Chantal Poullain Foundation

Another great collaboration is with the Chantal Arch Foundation, thanks to which Dramox makes children's theater performances accessible to children in hospital wards. A similar collaboration exists with the Police and Firefighters Foundation, the Alzheimer Center, the Kubova English Foundation, Cheiron, and other children's homes and day centers. Dramox has also reached music schools that were affected by last year's floods. “Hospitals that received access to Dramox.cz as a donation from the Foundation are screening special performances mainly for children, especially to calm them down, helping them forget about their illness and fill their long time during treatment in bed, perhaps with Hurvínek. This way, their time in the hospital passes more quickly. Thank you for Dramox.cz for our little and bigger children in hospitals,” writes the director of the Chantal Arch Foundation, Ing. Lenka Šebelová.

Theater heals in hospitals

We also have lovely feedback from joint screenings – for example, one recently took place at the University Hospital in Ostrava, where patients watched the performance of Šikmý kostel. “Especially during long hospital stays, theater from Dramox is a welcome distraction for our patients. It diverts their attention elsewhere, relaxes, refreshes, and encourages them. Thank you for the opportunity to make their time spent here more pleasant in this way,” praised the event Petra Petlachová, spokesperson for FNO.

We would be very happy if Dramox could bring joy to more people!

Let us know about your organization or someone who could benefit from theater. Reach out – together we will figure it out.
