The Hrady CZ Festival will enter its third decade with Mirai, Landa, and Mig 21, and will take place in Hluboká nad Vltavou for the first time.

Exclusive ninety-minute extended concerts by Daniel Landy and Mirai, as well as a new stop at Hluboká Castle over the Vltava River – these are the attractions of the 21st edition of the traveling music festival Hrady CZ. The organizers are presenting the complete music program for their eight summer stops. The Friday program will feature concerts by Rybičky 48, Mig 21, rapper Rytmus, Trautenberk, and others, while Saturday will belong to the aforementioned Mirai and Daniel Landa, Vypsaná fixa, and Harlej. The festival will kick off on Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11, at Točník Castle, and will then resonate through seven more castles and chateaus – Kunětická hora, Švihov, the brand new Hluboká nad Vltavou, Veveří, Hradec nad Moravicí, Bouzov, and will conclude its tour on August 28 and 29 at Bezděz.

New edition

Hrady CZ, as the only festival of its kind, has been combining the experience of music with the support of tourism and historical monuments since its inception. Part of the Saturday ticket includes free entry to the castle or chateau.Until April 16, tickets can be purchased at low spring prices directly on the festival's website www.hradycz.cz/vstupenky.

The festival concerts will take place in festival areas next to the monuments. Visitors can look forward to Tomáš Klus, the band Krucipüsk, or singer-songwriter Xindl X and singer Lenny. Younger audiences will appreciate artists such as the cross-genre Grey256 or indie-pop Brixtn. The program will also feature the pop band Vega Elektra. A change from previous years is the new stop in Hluboká nad Vltavou, which will replace Rožmberk nad Vltavou. The Hrady CZ festival spent fifteen years in Rožmberk in the South Bohemian Region, but the challenging terrain, combined with unfavorable weather, was already pushing the organizers to the limits of technical possibilities and at the expense of the audience's comfort. When the opportunity arose to move to a place with the genius loci that Hluboká nad Vltavou offers, the organizers did not hesitate.

“Not every South Bohemian knows Hluboká nad Vltavou, and it is well accessible from České Budějovice as well as from other large South Bohemian cities. We will build the festival area here in a beautiful flat location surrounded by many trees in the Munice area near the Vondrov courtyard. We believe that Hrady CZ will thrive here, and we are looking forward to the historically first visitors to this new festival stop,” says one of the organizers of the Hrady CZ festival, Michal Šesták.

Hrady CZ boasts the largest carnival of masks in the Czech Republic, which this year celebrates its twentieth anniversary. The carnival has become an attraction for both young and old, individuals and groups across generations. Some people regularly gather for this Friday masquerade near mysterious monuments, their masks have reached a completely professional level over the years. The organizers give a lot of space to the accompanying program, attractive prizes are prepared, and no participant leaves empty-handed. All masks participate in the parade on the main festival stage, making the carnival a breathtaking experience for both the masks themselves and all visitors to the Hrady CZ festival. “The carnival is an inseparable part of Hrady CZ; it has become an integral part since the second year of the festival. We are thrilled that visitors have taken a liking to it and the quality of the masks increases every year,” says the festival organizer and carnival curator, Viktor Souček.
