The historic center of Tábor will return to the past for three days. The 34th edition of the international historical festival Táborské setkání will offer medieval streets, markets and fairs, parades, period encampments, musical performances, and concerts. The festival is intended for all generations, and you can easily combine your visit with a walk through the old town. Don't miss Žižka Square, the Hussite Museum, or the Tábor underground – and if you want to take a moment away from the center, head to the water reservoir Jordán.

The Festival of Brno Independent Theaters will take place for the first time this year and will celebrate the diversity of the local professional independent scene. Drama, performances, puppetry, opera, and concerts are a great excuse to head to Brno for an autumn weekend and combine culture with gastronomy and a walk through the center. You can also enhance your trip with a visit to Villa Tugendhat, Špilberk, or one of the cafes for which Brno is famous.

One of the most famous Czech castles is a safe bet even without a major event. You can combine your tour with a hiking trip around the Český kras region and enjoy Karlštejn even outside the main summer season. The autumn also suits the local forests and paths, so it's worth leaving some time after your visit to the castle to explore the surrounding landscape.

Prague after dark shines in a completely different light. The Signal Festival will connect contemporary art, technology, and public space through light installations, video mapping, and audiovisual projects over four October evenings. Famous Prague locations will take on a different form for a moment and offer a new perspective on a city you may know well. You will discover individual works scattered throughout Prague, so just put on comfortable shoes and set out for an evening adventure. The complete program will be published by the organizers on September 2.
BY BIKE • ELBE TRAIL
In autumn, you don't have to put your bike away just yet. The Elbe Trail is one of the most beautiful river routes in Europe, and you can easily plan your trip according to your time and fitness level. You can set off around Litoměřice, Ústí nad Labem, or Děčín and combine your journey with a stop in the city, at a viewpoint, or for a good lunch.

MEMORIAL OF BEDŘICH SMETANA IN JABKENICE
It was the year 1876 when Bedřich Smetana permanently moved to Jabkenice. His daughter lived there with her husband Josef in the local hunting lodge near the extensive game preserve. Although Smetana's health was already significantly deteriorating, he composed some of his most famous works here, such as the operas The Devil's Wall, The Secret, and The Kiss. Jabkenice thus became an important place in his life and work. Since 1928, the hunting lodge has served as a museum commemorating one of the most significant Czech composers.

The historic apartment interior of the family of Oskar and Jana Semler, which was built into the original apartment building in 1933–1934, is one of the leading monuments of modern architecture in Central Europe. It was created based on the concept of Adolf Loos, developed by Loos's student Heinrich Kulka. The extensive apartment does not have classical floors – its individual spaces of different heights are concentrated around a central living hall on six levels.
AVIATION MUSEUM IN KUNOVICE

Touch a piece of history. In the Aviation Museum in Kunovice, there are no barriers between visitors and the exhibited exhibits. With one entry ticket, you can look inside the aircraft, listen to the radio communication of the crews with the Kunovice control tower, and soak up the aviation atmosphere. The exhibition features several unique aircraft, prototypes, and planes with interesting histories that you won't find anywhere else but in Kunovice. From April 1 to October 31 – open daily, including holidays and public holidays.
WINE HARVEST IN THE VINEYARD

This time, come directly among the vineyards for wine and burčák. The Řepín vineyard Štěpán invites you to the September wine harvest with wine, burčák from this year's harvest, homemade juices and lemonades from Mšeno, beer from Lobč, and local specialties and regional products. The afternoon will be complemented by live music, grilling sausages, and a program for children, including face painting and a carousel. Come and taste the atmosphere of the vineyard and enjoy a pleasant afternoon with the whole family.
VIEWPOINT SOLENICKÁ PODKOVA
In the Central Povltaví region, between the Kamýk and Orlík reservoirs, the Vltava River creates one of the amazing meanders of the Vltava Cascade, nicknamed Solenická podkova. The most beautiful view of it is from the rock Na Vraném near the hill Na Altánku in the village of Solenice, where the rocky promontory rises approximately 160 meters above the river. The view of the Solenice meander from here is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the Vltava.
VIEWPOINT WITH MÁMINKA
The lookout tower Máminka at the top of the Krušné Mountains near Hudlice is a pleasant destination for an easy hike. From Hudlice, the blue tourist trail leads you to it along the Tátovka alley, and the reward will be views of Beroun and the Křivoklátsko forests. The path gradually rises and can be managed by smaller children or a stroller. You can stop at the Myšlenková garden with quotes or search for Hudlinoš and Hudlinoška along the way. The 33-meter-high lookout tower, designed by the architectural group of Martin Rajniš, stands at an altitude of 609 meters and has been open to the public since 2015.
VIEWPOINT PARAPLÍČKO
The viewpoint Paraplíčko is one of the most beautiful places in the Křivoklát area. It is located on the hill Na Babě above the confluence of the Rakovnický stream and the Berounka River, and it got its name from the gazebo with a characteristic conical roof resembling an umbrella. The viewpoint offers an impressive view of the meandering Berounka, the village of Roztoky, and the surrounding wooded slopes. The most comfortable route leads along a 1.5 km long educational trail from Křivoklát Castle, but you can also reach the site from the center of the village.
GAME PARK ŽLEBY
The Game Park Žleby near Kutná Hora is famous for its unique breeding of white deer. The area of approximately 121 hectares adjoins the park of the state castle Žleby. It includes a showcase enclosure where visitors can see white deer, mouflons, fallow deer, waterfowl, and other animals. There is also an exhibition of birds of prey and owls. The showcase enclosure was established in 1998 and is accessible to the public from May to September. Today, around 90 pieces of predominantly white deer are bred throughout the park. The enclosure is just a few minutes' walk from the castle Žleby.
FOR TREASURE TO BEČOV
Autumn Bečov attracts with its history and the beautiful nature of the Slavkov Forest. The main star of the local castle and chateau is the reliquary of St. Maurus, one of the most valuable historical treasures in our country. However, after your visit, don't rush home. Take a stroll through the historic town or extend your trip into the surrounding countryside. It's an ideal plan for a day when you want to discover something and also slow down a bit.
TO SLOVÍČKO WITH NAPOLEON
What if you could ask Napoleon about what really interests you? The Slavkov Castle near Brno has added an interactive exhibition this year, where you can engage in a conversation with the French emperor thanks to artificial intelligence. After you finish, continue with a tour of the castle or follow the traces of the famous Battle of Three Emperors. History here doesn't just stay behind the glass.
