Czech and Moravian winemakers will present the first wines of this year’s vintage. Visitors can taste, meet the winemakers, compare wines and find their favourite. They can also vote for the festival’s most popular winemaker, announced at the end of the day.
Young wine traditionally goes hand in hand with St. Martin’s roast goose, served with cabbage and dumplings, along with other goose specialities and Czech dishes. Cheese, cured meats, pastries and other delicacies will also be on offer. Live music – from traditional Moravian cimbalom to jazz and swing – will complete the riverside atmosphere.
The St. Martin’s tradition dates back to the end of the agricultural year, when people tasted the new wine and gathered around a shared table. Today you can experience it at Náplavka with a glass of wine in hand, the aroma of roast goose in the air and views across the Vltava towards Prague Castle and Hradčany. And plenty of time to discover a wine you will want to return to.
The 15th edition brings a Czech tradition to one of Prague’s most beautiful riverside settings. Come, taste, listen to live music and enjoy an autumn day by the Vltava in good company.
