POKOJE is a unique showcase of young art that connects students from Czech and foreign art academies and creates a space for international collaboration. Each studio or student collective is given one room in an empty building in the center of Prague, which they transform into their own site-specific installation. This format allows not only for experimentation with exhibition approaches outside the traditional gallery framework but also for the confrontation of various artistic disciplines and methods of working with space. POKOJE thus serves as a platform for exploring the possibilities of contemporary artistic creation as well as a place for dialogue among the emerging generation of artists. Architecture, fine arts, and design under one roof – this is the exhibition of young art Pokoje. The showcase of work by students from art schools across the Czech Republic annually enlivens buildings in the center of Prague, for which participants always create their own specific artistic projects. Pokoje is also a unique nationwide meeting that initiates the exchange of ideas and approaches among emerging artists. The event is organized by Containall o.p.s. – a non-profit organization that operates a mobile cultural center Containall created from a shipping container. Since 2013, the seasonal activities of Containall o.p.s. and one-time exhibitions like Pokoje have expanded the cultural offerings in the capital city.
