The new Gourmet invites you on trips for food, wine, and experiences.

In South Moravia, it smells, bubbles, and matures – not only in wine cellars. A new edition of Gourmet South Moravia 2025 has been released into the world, bringing a fresh overview of the most interesting things you can taste in the region. The businesses were nominated in the spring of 2025 by the South Moravian public through suggestion forms. Expert evaluators then took on the role of secret guests to assess the quality of cafes, bistros, restaurants, wineries, and breweries. They selected 58 establishments from Boskovice to Znojmo, where honest work, excellent cuisine, and an atmosphere worth traveling for come together.

New edition

And there is a place to go! On the website gourmetjiznimorava.cz, you will find not only a list of recommended establishments but also tips for trips that connect food with exploring the landscape, monuments, and traditions. You can enjoy lunch in a designer restaurant and then take a bike ride through the vineyards in the afternoon, head to a countryside café for coffee and cake, and stop by a lookout tower or a castle along the way. This year, the entire project is also themed around cycling – another popular way to discover the region.

“Great establishments are emerging in southern Moravia, even in places where tourists usually don’t go. Gastronomy helps to discover new places and draw attention to them,” says Martina Grůzová, director of the South Moravian Tourism Board. She adds that the level of establishments in the region keeps pace with global trends.

The Gourmet South Moravia guide is not just a list of restaurants, cafés, or wine bars – it is an inspiration for everyone who wants to combine culinary experiences with travel. In addition to the web map of recommended establishments, you will also enjoy the photographs of Roman France, who captured authentic people and their bikes as you encounter them on the South Moravian cycling paths. You can pick up the brochure for free at information centers, participating establishments, or browse it online.

And where to go this year?

The title of the best restaurant in the region was awarded to Chateau Petit in Hlohovec, while the top spot among bistros was defended by Panelka Luleč, and for excellent beer, you can head to Frankies Chmelotéky in Břeclav. You can enjoy coffee with a unique atmosphere at the Dvorek in Bořetice, and a glass of wine will be poured by the hospitable Vinařství Válka in Nosislav.

Whether you travel by car, train, or bike, Gourmet South Moravia is an invitation to discover flavors and stories that make this region unique. Behind the fragrant food and refreshing drinks lie amazing stories of the people who create them – and in southern Moravia, there are more than enough waiting for you. Set off to explore the gastronomy of this region!
