Lecture in the stable of the Liteň Castle about the life and work of one of the most important authors of the National Theatre. We will introduce his decorations for the National Theatre and key works such as Oldřich and Božena, The Destruction of the Adamites, and the series Animals and Petrovský. Through his work, we will explore the values and limits of historical painting, take a look at the art of official portraits, and visit other monuments decorated by František Ženíšek, such as the National Museum, the Municipal House, and the dining car of Emperor Franz Joseph I. The lecture is presented by Monika Švec Sybolová.
