The Prague island of Štvanice will once again become the venue for one of the largest skateboarding competitions in Europe.
From June 27 to 29, the 30th anniversary of the Mystic Sk8 Cup will be celebrated here, with over 180 top skateboarders from around the world attending. There will also be concerts by foreign and local bands.
The Mystic Sk8 Cup is one of the largest skateboarding competitions in Europe, regularly attracting top skateboarders from all over the world. The event has been held since 1994 in an indoor skatepark in the center of Prague on Štvanice Island and the adjacent area. Over the years, it has built a reputation among competitors and spectators as one of the most popular skate events, and it is also the oldest on the European continent. In nearly three decades, the biggest stars such as David Gonzalez, Dustin Dollin, Christian Hosoi, Tony Hawk, Ronnie Creager, Arto Saari, Geoff Rowley, Bastien Salabanzi, Austen Seaholm, Rune Glifberg, Leticia Bufoni, Angelo Caro, and Adrien Bulard have graced the event in Prague.
The competition takes place in the form of a three-day festival, which includes not only competitions in the park and street categories but also a music program featuring concerts by foreign and local bands and DJs. In previous years, artists such as Suicidal Tendencies, NOFX, Onyx, Lords Of The Underground, Dog Eat Dog, Madball, Delinquent Habits, and many others have performed here.
Visitors can spend time in the Relax zone during the competition, where skateboard brands showcase their products and fashion, and a diverse gastronomy is served.
The Mystic Sk8 Cup is part of the World Cup Skateboarding tour, which guarantees that the biggest names in world skateboarding appear in Prague's Štvanice.
One of the main faces of the competition is its host Dave Duncan, an icon of world skateboarding from California.
