Selection from the works of the unexpectedly deceased painter and sculptor František Koudelka
The selection from the work of the unexpectedly deceased painter and sculptor František Koudelka (1945 Ptení – 2025 Prague) focuses on paintings from his last years. These evoke life as it is; a life in which a deep force of human emotions and feelings, symbolized by the aggression of colors, breaks through the gray grid of everyday life. In his final paintings, the artist completely shatters this grid to give freedom to the colors. The exhibition also reminds us that the artist went through several creative stages: from early figurative scenes of everyday life to artistic interpretations of philosophical terms and representations of the impressiveness of sacred buildings, culminating in "blinds" that obscure the view into the human soul.
