Euphoric and surprisingly modern reflection on fame, desire, and loneliness with Andrew Scott in the lead role.
Star actor Garry Essendine is preparing to embark on an overseas tour, but his colorful life is slipping out of his hands in the meantime. As several relationships compete for his attention, Garry faces an escalating identity crisis and spends his last days at home in a chaotic whirlwind of love, sex, panic, and self-discovery. In this euphoric and surprisingly modern reflection on fame, desire, and loneliness, written by the renowned playwright, composer, singer, and actor Noël Coward in 1939, we will see star actor Andrew Scott (Sherlock, Ripley) in the lead role, along with Indira Varma (Game of Thrones) and Enzo Cilenti (High Rise, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell). The production, directed by the artistic director of the Old Vic theatre, Matthew Warchus, is captured live from the stage of London’s Old Vic and presented as a recording.
