Prague Castle will open to the public again this spring and offer a unique opportunity to glimpse into normally inaccessible representative spaces.
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, you will be able to freely walk through the halls and salons where the president of the republic receives distinguished guests and important meetings take place. The castle decorators will once again take care of fine-tuning the interiors and creating a spring atmosphere. The tour route will lead from the ceremonial Matthias Gate through Plečnik's Column Hall, Rothmayer's Hall, and the Spanish Hall, to the Rudolf Gallery and Throne Room, Habsburg Hall, and the Mirror Salon. In addition to the representative spaces, the classic visitor route, which includes St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica, and Golden Lane, will also be accessible for free. Exceptionally, before the planned reconstruction, it will also be possible to visit the Royal Summer Palace, which is usually not open to the public, located in the Royal Garden, which, along with other castle gardens, is already open to visitors. For capacity reasons, free entry does not apply to the Great South Tower of St. Vitus Cathedral and the exhibition "Fragments of Memory: The St. Vitus Treasure in the Mirror of Contemporary Art." Barrier-free access will be provided from the second courtyard through the western wing of the New Palace. Date and location of the event: Representative Spaces of Prague Castle, entrance through Matthias Gate from the first courtyard, Saturday, April 18, 2026, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (last entry at 5:30 PM). Dear visitors, we regret to inform you that entry to the representative spaces is not possible with larger luggage and strollers.
