The inaugural exhibition of the KodlContemporary gallery will symbolically conclude its transformation from a seasonal project into an independent gallery this autumn.
Vernissage: September 11, 2025 | 6:00 PM Opening hours: Tue-Fri 10 AM-6 PM, Sat-Sun 12 PM-8 PM The inaugural exhibition of the KodlContemporary gallery will symbolically conclude its transformation from a seasonal project into an independent gallery with a permanent exhibition program. Curator Jan Kudrna will present a selection of artists with whom the gallery has collaborated in the past, conceptualizing the exhibition as a conscious transition – the "last Salon" – and at the same time the beginning of a new exhibition era. The architect of the exhibition will be Mark Ther, whose spatial intervention will allow individual works to engage in an open dialogue across media and generations. "Point zero represents any arbitrary moment on an infinite timeline – it just needs to be named. To choose it and define it as the starting point. It is, of course, hardly possible to perceive an artwork without context and art-historical connections. On the other hand, every exhibition that presents a scene with a similar breadth, variability, and dispersion as the zero exhibition of the KodlContemporary gallery tells a certain story, the essence of which does not lie in finding a fixed visual or philosophical line. It is not so much about the genesis of the selection of artists, which clearly stems from several previous exhibitions to which the exhibition alludes. There is no unifying and fixed theme. There is no need to process a brief or answer question(s). However, it is possible to pause. It is even possible, as is rarely the case today, to "choose that moment." Point. The meaning is hidden in the emphasis on individual works. Each one of them. Each stands alone, separately, communicating in its individual language at that specific moment and in that particular space. Just as there is no universal recipe for beauty, there is no depressing or, conversely, optimistic image or sculpture. It is often even difficult to definitively say whether there is an unequivocally good or bad artist. What matters is always the result. The work. An unequivocal result of concentrated effort."
Autumn doesn’t have to be just about grayness, rain, and shortening days. This year, the Metropole Zličín shopping center has decided to break this "stereotype" and show a better side of autumn – colorful, calm, and inspiring. From October 16 to 19, visitors can look forward to a four-day festival called Autumn Restart, which will offer yoga classes, mindfulness sessions, and professional styling.

A baby mantle guereza has been born at Prague Zoo. This is the first addition of these African monkeys in the Dja Reserve pavilion. It is also the first Prague baby of the rarer Kikuyu subspecies, which the zoo has been keeping since the beginning of this year. Unlike its black-and-white parents, the baby is snow-white, a color that will only last for a few weeks. The female Lebamba is a first-time mother, but she has taken on her role well. However, it is important to remember that the baby, whose sex is still unknown, has not yet overcome the critical period. It is already on display in the main exhibition of the pavilion, which, along with the guerezas, is inhabited by a family group of lowland gorillas.

In Prague, October 2, 2025 - Prague transformed into a holiday paradise for one day yesterday. Although the city has already shifted into the cool autumn, Margot, known for its unmistakable taste of coconut, rum, and chocolate, turned its slogan "This is what a holiday tastes like" into reality. On Prague's Štvanice Island, it set up the largest hammock in the world, covering an area of over 230 m², comparable to a tennis court. Instead of clay courts and forehands, relaxation was served here. The record-breaking hammock was officially confirmed on-site by a Guinness World Records commissioner who traveled all the way from London for the event. Margot thus made its entry into the world record book and brought a holiday atmosphere to Prague like never before. The newly introduced Margot MINI bar then demonstrated that even with the mini version, you can experience the maximum holiday enjoyment.
