The benefit evening is a gathering for all those attracted to live art, baroque theater, and an atmosphere that cannot be experienced anywhere else.
The benefit evening for the THEATRUM KUKS festival will kick off the jubilee 25th edition this spring. The multi-genre festival of baroque and baroque-inspired art, THEATRUM KUKS, is entering its 25th year. However, the celebrations of the quarter-century will not begin until August in Kuks; their eve will take place on April 25, 2026, in Prague. The ceremonial benefit evening at the VILA Štvanice Theater will connect theater, a gourmet experience, meetings with creators and supporters of the festival, and the first exclusive presentation of the jubilee year's program. The festival and the Geisslers Hofcomoedianten troupe share a common origin and baroque DNA. THEATRUM KUKS will celebrate 25 years in August, and shortly thereafter, the Geisslers will also enter their 25th season. The benefit evening is a symbolic meeting of these two worlds outside of Kuks and an opportunity to peek behind the scenes. Baroque feasts for the 21st century The evening will begin with a welcome drink, followed by the popular performance "Two Comedies in a Comedy" by the Geisslers Hofcomoedianten. A playful, energetic tribute to baroque theatricality with intelligent humor and exaggeration. After the performance, guests will enjoy a communal dinner and an informal meeting with the festival management and artists. The evening will also include the presentation of the program for the jubilee 25th edition of the festival and a fundraising challenge to support its further development. "Baroque and patronage are inseparable concepts. It would be difficult for art to flourish without the support of patrons. They were the ones who followed their vision and commissioned works that have survived and are still admired today. We are pleased that patronage is slowly becoming a norm in the Czech Republic today. We thank all supporters of culture and art, because without art and culture, our lives and public space would lose fundamental values," adds the festival director, Kateřina Bohadlová. The evening will also introduce the festival's patronage club and opportunities to become an active part of its future.
