TRAIL PARK KLÍNOVEC: A summer experience that will blow you away

Klínovec is mostly associated with winter, but as soon as the snow melts, it transforms into one of the most interesting places for an active day in the mountains. The Klínovec Trail Park offers over 30 kilometers of groomed trails of varying difficulty and is one of the largest of its kind in the Czech Republic. What does this mean in practice? Simply put – a place where a complete beginner, a family with children, and an experienced rider looking for a challenge can all enjoy the ride.

New edition

A ride that will captivate you

The trail is not just a classic forest path. It is a groomed, slightly descending track designed for a smooth, readable, and fun ride. Without unnecessary pedaling, without stress, and with the feeling that your bike carries you along.

An ideal start is represented by the blue trail Azur – a trail over 10 kilometers long that leads through the forest, offering views and space to get a feel for everything. Once you gain confidence, you can continue on the red trail Rubin or tackle more technical tracks with natural surfaces and elements that require assurance. A separate chapter is the downhill and freeride trails, which are intended for advanced and experienced riders – you will find jumps, drops, steep sections, and technical segments that will test your technique and courage.

An interesting experience for older children is the descent of the blue trail on a terrain scooter, which you can rent at the rental shop, just like a bike and other equipment.

It is precisely this combination – from the smooth flow trail to the challenging downhill – that makes Klínovec a place where both beginners and experienced bikers return. Beginners will benefit from using the bike school, where instructors explain the basics of working with a bike in the terrain and help you quickly gain confidence.

Cycling without effort

If you are attracted to movement in the mountains, but not necessarily technical trails, Klínovec also offers a variant of "effortless cycling." The cable car will take you to the top, and you can descend on wide forest roads with a gentle profile, which can be managed by less experienced cyclists or families with children. This way, you can enjoy a longer route with views without much effort.

The cable car as an experience in itself

A large part of the atmosphere of Klínovec is created by the cable car with its orange bubble. Riding to the top is practical, but for many visitors – especially children – it is an experience in itself. The views of the Krušné Mountains, the outlook over the surroundings, and the feeling of peace – that is a moment you will remember just as much as the ride down. Hikers also use the cable car who want to enjoy the mountains without a demanding ascent.

Fun for everyone

However, Klínovec is not just about the bike park. Right at the top of Klínovec, children can enjoy a trampoline playground or a kiosk with ice cream and lemonade. Meanwhile, parents can have coffee on the terrace of the restaurant overlooking the children or just relax in the relaxation zone with breathtaking views of the Krušné Mountains.

Both children and adults will appreciate the pump track and skill zone, where they can warm up and gain experience before the actual ride, or just as a diversion during the trip.

Hikers can set off on shorter or longer trails – a popular direction is for example towards Boží Dar or the Boží Oko lookout on Neklid. In the area, you will find a number of educational trails, such as Ježíšková cesta in Boží Dar, which will delight especially small visitors.

End of the day? A well-deserved rest

If you want to end the day in style, visit the Aquacentrum Agricola in the spa town of Jáchymov, where adults can enjoy an original mining sauna world, while children will appreciate the paddling pool, whirlpools, or slide.

Mountains within reach

Klínovec is accessible from Prague in about an hour and a half, making it an ideal destination for a day trip or an active weekend holiday.

Whether you come with children, friends, or just by yourself, one thing is certain – you will leave with the feeling that you enjoyed it to the fullest.
