Comic-Con Prague 2027 will welcome the host of Believe It or Not and a legendary comic book author. It is also preparing a new HERO category of tickets.

The largest Czech pop culture festival will return to Prague's O₂ universe for the eighth time. Comic-Con Prague 2027 will take place from April 16 to 18, 2027, and will offer three days full of movies, series, sci-fi, fantasy, comics, games, and meetings with domestic and international guests. The organizers are now revealing the first stars of next year's edition and also announcing several novelties, including the expansion of festival spaces and a new limited HERO ticket category.

New edition

„The first confirmed international guests are Jonathan Frakes, known to audiences not only from the world of Star Trek but also as the host of the show Believe It or Not, and John Higgins, one of the most prominent figures in the world of comics. Both are among the guests that fans have been asking about for a long time, and we are pleased to welcome them to Prague. We will be introducing more guests over the coming months,“ says Pavel Renčín, marketing director of Active Radio.

Jonathan Frakes rose to fame as Commander William T. Riker in the series Star Trek: The Next Generation and its subsequent films. However, he has also become one of the most respected directors in the Star Trek franchise. He directed the film Star Trek VIII: First Contact, contributed to Star Trek IX: Insurrection, and in recent years has directed episodes of the series Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Outside the fan community, he is also known for the show Believe It or Not, which he hosted for many years.

No proper comic-con can do without comic book creators. John Higgins is a legendary British artist who was instrumental in the creation of one of the most significant comic book titles ever, Watchmen. Czech readers may also know him from titles such as John Constantine, Hellblazer; The Hills Have Eyes: Origins, or Judge Dredd: America.

The festival expands its space and program

Comic-Con Prague has become one of the largest events of its kind in Central Europe in recent years, and it expands its program every year, with several new features planned for 2027. Visitors can look forward to popular program lines dedicated to films and series, science fiction, fantasy, comics, anime, video games, dubbing, and literature, including popular scenes Serial Killer and Future Line.

An integral part of the festival will also be extensive partner interactive exhibitions that will allow fans to step into the worlds of their favorite brands, try out various activities, and participate in competitions. The board game area will offer dozens of new games and tournaments, while the video game area will feature hundreds of gaming stations with the latest and classic titles. There will also be cosplay competitions, exhibitions, workshops, meetings of fan groups, and a large sales zone with dozens of exhibitors offering comics, books, collectibles, merchandise, and original works by authors in the Artist Alley section. Comic-Con Prague is not just an opportunity to meet beloved actors and creators, but above all, a unique weekend experience that connects all areas of modern pop culture in one place.

„Next year, we will also expand the use of space to part of the O₂ arena, allowing us to offer even more programming to visitors. The festival will take place across four floors of the O₂ universe, and we are preparing 32 hours of programming in more than twenty halls. The festival will also include a grand Comic-Con party, which will take place on Friday evening and will be included in Friday and multi-day tickets,“ says Václav Pravda, program director of the festival.

A new feature in sales will also be an exclusive HERO ticket category. The number of these tickets will be limited to just twenty and will offer holders a range of premium benefits that the organizers will present in the coming months. Traditionally, single-day tickets, three-day festival tickets, and a limited edition of VIP tickets will also be available. The first wave of tickets remains the same as last year. Discounted prices are valid until September 30.

More guests, program updates, and details about tickets will be gradually announced by the organizers on the festival's website and social media.
