Cinnamood cinnamon rolls are coming to the Czech Republic. Customers will enjoy them in two stores in Prague.

Cinnamon rolls predominantly of plant origin, which have won the hearts of customers in four European markets, are heading to the Czech Republic. The brand Cinnamood from Cologne, which pays attention to the origin of ingredients and personal relationships with customers, will open its first two branches in Prague – on Jungmannova Street and Jiřího z Poděbrad Square.

New edition

„When we founded Cinnamood, we wanted to elevate the ordinary cinnamon roll to something more. Thus, modern design pastries were born, which combine not only unconventional fillings but also a love for the craft and a small experience – it is essential for us that people stop by the roll and enjoy a moment of togetherness,“ explains the brand's co-founder Luca Breuer, who came from Germany to personally support the grand opening of the branch on Jungmannova Street. It will open to Czech customers on Saturday, July 19, as the 43rd Cinnamood branch in Europe.

Iconic rolls for the first time in the Czech Republic

Cinnamood will open its first two branches in Prague this year – the Jungmannova Street location will welcome customers in a shop with takeout, while the Jiřího z Poděbrad Square location will have seating. For the grand opening, the first customers will be offered 100 rolls for free. The German brand's range includes more than 15 flavor variants, most of which are purely plant-based – from pistachio and coconut to Bueno, Chocolate Cherry, or Matcha Roll.

„In preparing our rolls, we exclusively use ingredients that truly stand out in terms of origin and composition. We make the fillings from honest German ingredients, import fruit juice from France, and roast our own coffee. In the summer, customers can enjoy vegan ice cream with pieces of roll,“ comments Anna Schlecht, co-founder of Cinnamood.

The concept was brought to the Czech Republic by Rufina Tsybyktarova, who first tasted Cinnamood in Berlin and was captivated by its atmosphere and quality. „I come from Kazakhstan, where sharing and hospitality are part of everyday life. In Prague, I want to create a place where people will gladly stop by and enjoy our products. And when they leave, we want them to come back to us,“ adds Rufina.

Building community through food

The brand was born in Cologne in 2022 in response to the demand for modern pastries with an emphasis on quality, unconventional flavors, and accessibility. Behind its creation were Anna Schlecht and Luca Breuer – a couple united not only by their love for each other but also for exceptional sweet pastries. From a small local bakery, they built a brand whose products customers can now buy in four global markets – the fifth is now the Czech Republic. In their home city of Cologne, up to 6,000 rolls are sold daily.

In promoting our rolls, we primarily rely on the community that has formed around the brand, aided by Instagram and collaborations with food influencers. We believe that such an approach will surpass short-term trends,“ the founders add.

Plans for more cities

Cinnamood plans to expand not only in Prague but also to other parts of the Czech Republic. New branches are in preparation in shopping centers and a flagship store in an even busier location in the city center. There are also plans to enter Brno and other large cities. The brand has set an ambitious goal – to sell up to 800,000 rolls by the end of the year and create at least 30 new jobs.
