Prague will shine with a million lights: The Heart of Europe exhibition invites you on a magical journey across the continent.

The outdoor area of the Yellow Spa in Prague will transform for the fourth time into a radiant realm of fantasy from October 31, 2025, to January 31, 2026. The new light exhibition will take visitors on a unique journey through Europe, from ancient temples to medieval cathedrals and modern symbols of European architecture. All installations were created in the Czech Republic and bear the signature of local artists, designers, and technicians.

Heart of Europe in the Heart of Prague

The main project of the season is the exhibition Heart of Europe, which symbolically connects European countries through light installations. The interactive trail will present significant buildings and symbols of individual states and offer a view of European identity as a process of jointly shaping values, culture, and identity. The inspiration came from ancient myths and stories that connect the past with the present. “The story of Europe came to me when I was leaving the illuminated tree in the Old Town Square last year. I recalled the traditionally depicted Europe according to Greek myths and thought about how little we remember the European traditions and values that shape our lives. What connects us and what is European identity?” specifies Eva Poláčková, owner of DECOLED, which is behind the realization of the exhibition.

Each stop on the light journey will reveal a different aspect of European history and culture – from ancient Greece and Rome through medieval legends to contemporary metropolises. All the hearts of Europe will converge in the heart of Europe – in Prague.

The light exhibition Heart of Europe brings exhibits from 9 European countries, where the Roman Colosseum, the Greek Acropolis with the gods Zeus and Athena, other fascinating divine figures, and iconic buildings come to life in light, allowing visitors to experience the magic of European culture, architecture, and mythology.

Visitors also have a unique opportunity to walk under a light replica of the famous Tower Bridge and embark on a symbolic journey through Europe on the Santa Maria ship. The light exhibition Heart of Europe thus connects the most famous European monuments, culture, and legends into a unique experience for all generations.

Sensitive Approach to Public Space

“We enter public space with light sensitively and cultured – we do not want to create light smog, but to establish a dialogue with visitors. With the exhibition, we do not just want to tell a story, but also bring enlightenment and joy,” adds Eva Poláčková. “Yellow Spa is a unique place on the banks of the Vltava River, from where an unmistakable panorama of Prague and Vyšehrad opens up. I am glad that our area will again become the setting for a project that connects art, history, and modern technology, offering visitors a unique experience in a winter outdoor space by the Vltava River that they won't find elsewhere. We invite everyone to enjoy a walk and perhaps something good,” says Jan Dell, executive director of Taiko, a.s., which operates the Yellow Spa area.

An Experience for All Generations and All Senses

The exhibition not only brings a visual spectacle but also musical accompaniment. The atmosphere will be enhanced by the original English song Story of Lights, sung by the singer Debbi specifically for this project. Part of the program also includes a sightseeing cruise on the light boat, which will be available every Friday and on weekends. Visitors will thus enjoy a magical view of the glowing park, evening Prague, and the panorama of Vyšehrad from the surface of the Vltava River. Special cruise dates are also planned for November 17 and during the Christmas holidays (December 22-23 and December 25-30), except for December 24 and 31.

Typical moments of Czech Christmas that we cannot imagine the holidays without. What are the unchanging moments of Czech Christmas?

Every year we promise that this time we will take it easy, without rushing and without unnecessary sweets. And every year we end up the same way – we anxiously wait for the golden pig, nibble on potato salad already at lunch, and secretly hope that the breaded carp will survive until the evening. Some moments of Czech Christmas simply do not change – and perhaps that is exactly why we love them so much.
