EuroVelo 13: Iron Curtain Trail
EuroVelo 13, also known as the Iron Curtain Trail, is a 10,400 km long cycling route that follows the former impenetrable border between Western and Eastern Europe. This route, leading from the Barents Sea to the Black Sea, passes through 20 countries and is the longest route of the EuroVelo network.

In the Bratislava region, EuroVelo 13 covers a 90 km section and passes through picturesque areas along the Morava and Danube rivers. Along the route, you will discover various attractions, from the historic Devín Castle and the paleontological site Sandberg to charming villages in Záhorie and a network of bunkers from the pre-World War II era.

The advantage of the Slovak section is that it mostly runs on separate paths without car traffic, such as embankments and former military roads. The route is flat and paved, making it ideal for all age groups and cycling levels. The entire route is well-marked as a red cycling route, making it easy to follow and connect to other cycling routes in the region.
