Hollywood Stars in the Darkest Courtroom of History
After the end of World War II, the world faces the question for the first time in history of how to judge evil in the form and scale brought by the Nazi regime. In bombed-out Germany the first-ever international trial begins – the Nuremberg Tribunal – and with it the effort to understand what is happening in the minds of the men responsible for millions of deaths.
Young American psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Rami Malek) arrives in Nuremberg to investigate the mental state of Nazi leaders including Hermann Göring himself at the request of Russell Crowe. What was supposed to be a routine investigation turns into a personal duel, where Kelley gradually becomes fascinated by the intelligence and charisma of his prisoner and begins to question within himself the boundary between monster and man.

The Trial that Rewrote the History of Justice
Meanwhile, the courtroom comes alive with the greatest story of justice of the 20th century – the trial led by prosecutor Robert H. Jackson (Michael Shannon), who contributed to the shaping of the foundations of modern international law and changed the way we think about guilt, responsibility and punishment. The film thus combines intimate psychological scenes in prison with grand moments of the tribunal, creating a thrilling thriller.
Director James Vanderbilt is also the author of the screenplay, which is based on the book by Jack El-Haie about the true story of military psychiatrist Douglas Kelley, authentic transcripts of interrogations and historical materials about post-war trials. The film will be released in Czech cinemas on January 15, 2026, distributed by Falcon.
