It's not an April Fool's joke! Popeyes has arrived in České Budějovice.

It's not an April Fool's joke! Popeyes has arrived in České Budějovice.

The iconic Chicken Sandwich is now available in České Budějovice. Dozens of fans of the famous American brand didn't miss the chance to be the first to taste the unique chicken recipes, a distinctive blend of spices, and other specialties of Louisiana cuisine, as the first hundred sandwiches disappeared within half an hour. The restaurant in the IGY Center in České Budějovice is the fifth Popeyes location in the Czech Republic, but the first in South Bohemia.

New edition

The new restaurant is located on the first floor of IGY Center, the largest shopping center in České Budějovice and in all of South Bohemia, not far from the historic city center. For lovers of Louisiana flavors, there will be 64 seats available. The first Popeyes in South Bohemia will be open from 9 AM to 9 PM and will provide jobs for several dozen people in various types of contracts, from summer jobs to managerial positions.

This is the first time that Czech Popeyes is heading to a traditional shopping center in České Budějovice. “We want to be closer to our customers; České Budějovice is one of the largest cities in the Czech Republic, a tourist destination, and also a university city with thousands of students,” explains Marko Blaževič, who oversees Popeyes in Poland and Romania in addition to the Czech market.

After the opening of the first restaurant in Prague's Wenceslas Square in November 2023, together with the one in České Budějovice, Popeyes will have five locations in the Czech Republic. During this year, Popeyes will also enter other regions and is preparing a standalone Drive Thru restaurant. By 2033, 60 Popeyes restaurants are expected to open in the Czech Republic.
