MAŘENKA VIEWPOINT
The Mařenka viewpoint is located near the village of Teletín above the former Svatojánské currents and offers one of the most impressive views of the Vltava River. The river passes through a deep rocky canyon here, bends into a horseshoe shape, and creates a striking scenery that belongs to the iconic places of the Czech landscape. The Svatojánské currents once marked a dangerous section between Štěchovice and Slapy, where loggers struggled with rapids while navigating to Prague. After the construction of the Štěchovice dam in 1943, they were flooded, and log rafting ceased. The viewpoint is accessible all year round, and nearby are also the viewpoints Máj and Myšák, which are worth a visit.
