„Comic-Con Brno & Junior is getting bigger and more diverse every year. I am pleased that this year Jack Veal, who appeared in the Marvel series Loki, will arrive in Brno, but he also starred in the sci-fi thriller Medium and the darkly comedic series The End of the F***ing World, says Pavel Renčín, marketing director of Active Radio.
Among other foreign guests is Joonas Suotamo, the actor who portrays Chewbacca from the Star Wars saga, also known from the series Wednesday. The Comic-Con Brno & Junior will also feature actors from the legendary film series Police Academy. Among them is Lance Kinsey as Proctor, Captain Harris's assistant. This is his most famous role, but he also appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past and the sci-fi horror Dreamcatcher. Scott Thomson, who portrayed Sergeant Copeland in three installments of Police Academy, will also be there. Last but not least, Brant von Hoffman, who plays Blankese, will join.
A special mention goes to the delegation from Kruval, which will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The brave trio representing the world of Harry Potter will include Predrag Bjelac (Kruval director and former Death Eater Igor Karkarov), Stanislav Yanevski (Viktor Krum), and Tolga Safer (Karkarov's assistant).
The historical atmosphere will also be complemented by actors from the Czech game Kingdom Come: Deliverance, who will meet directly with fans for the first time at Comic-Con in the Czech Republic.
„This year, visitors will also be pleased by Christopher Judge, an actor known primarily as Teal'c from the legendary sci-fi series Stargate and Kratos from the God of War game series, whose charismatic presence and unmistakable voice have won fans worldwide. Pavel Nový, a beloved actor and comedian with dozens of roles in theater, film, and television, who is an icon for several generations of Czech audiences, will also be there. We will announce more foreign and domestic stars soon,“ says Václav Pravda, program director of the festival.
Program and Accompanying Events
In addition to meeting guests, fans can look forward to a number of attractive accompanying programs. The lightsaber fencing school will present demonstrations of combat choreography and offer the chance to try basic techniques. A big attraction will also be the Halloween party on Friday, October 31, to which holders of two-day tickets will have free entry.
Book Fair Kniha Brno
Comic-Con Brno & Junior takes place simultaneously with the Kniha Brno book fair. The second edition of the fair will again feature prestigious literary guests and a rich accompanying program. Visitors can look forward to the foreign author C. J. Tudor, who has gained fame primarily for thrillers such as The Chalk Man, The Taking of Annie Thorne, and The Other People. Among the domestic authors participating are František Kotleta, Kristýna Sněgoňová, and Ondřej Neff.
