2. A city steeped in history.
Bratislava is a city where history began with the arrival of the Celts, continued with the Romans, and eventually bridged into the famous coronation era, commemorated by the majestic St. Martin's Cathedral. A symbol of Bratislava's rich history is also Bratislava Castle, which is also home to the Historical Museum, and Devín Castle overlooking the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers, easily accessible by boat from the city center. Historical artifacts and other exhibitions can be found in 30 museums throughout Bratislava – in the Old Town Hall, the Natural History Museum on the Danube embankment, and many other places.

Families with children will find the necessary space for relaxation in the Karloveská Bay at Železná studnička or at Devín.

On August 13, 2026, Milan Hein, the founder of the Prague Ungelt Theatre, will celebrate a significant life milestone of 80 years. From a damp Old Town cellar, he has built one of the most respected chamber stages in the Czech Republic over more than three decades. Although he retired in 2025, becoming an "emeritus principal," he remains the driving force of the entire theatre. This year, he opened a new theatre café - Café Hein - and still performs in two productions.
