Come and learn all about what soil actually is and how important it is for animals and plants. A panel exhibition on the roof of NZM.
The soil is full of life, which is immensely diverse and interconnected through many surprising relationships. It is one of our most valuable natural resources. The panel exhibition on the roof of the National Agricultural Museum will convince you of this. We encounter soil throughout our lives; it gives us so much, yet we still know so little about it. The exhibition invites you to better understand what a gift soil is for us and how diverse, but also vulnerable, it is. It is our shared responsibility to take care of it as best as we can. Come and learn everything about what soil actually is and how important it is for animals and plants. We will show you how soil changes, what threatens it, and what we can do to protect it. The exhibition was prepared by the Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture. The authors thank the Research Institute for Soil Monitoring and Protection and the Ministry of the Environment for their support. We have prepared a complementary program for school groups on May 15, a thematic morning called Soil Fest. The general public can experience the afternoon Soil Fest on the same day.
