The main characters of the crazy horror comedy This Party is DEAD are teenagers and zombies.
What happens when a group of teenagers finds themselves at the beginning of a zombie apocalypse and realizes that the biggest problem isn't the undead, but their own lives? The new Czech film "This Party is DEAD" by director Adam Kůs brings an original combination of horror, comedy, and generational commentary. The film is now presented with a trailer and will hit theaters on June 18. "This Party is DEAD" takes viewers to a Halloween party where things are a bit lively, even though they're a bit dead... When responsible Alice, superficial Sofia, bohemian Hanka, and insecure Roman head to a Halloween party, they have no idea that a night full of madness and chaos is just beginning. A chain of arguments, embarrassing moments, and bad decisions quickly spirals out of control, leading to absurd and wild situations with zombies, police officers, and frustrated actors from romantic comedies. On her quest to save her younger sister Kristýna, Alice discovers that the real danger lies not so much in the zombies, but rather in mutual prejudices and poor choices of role models. The main roles are played by Petra Zábrodská, Lucie Pokorná, Natálie Dvořáková, and Jaroslav Urbanec. They are joined in the film by Vladimír Polívka, Hynek Čermák, Martin Stránský, and Jiří Ployhar. "Under a layer of exaggeration, humor, and colorful stylization, we have hidden a thematically rich story, the main dilemma of which is the choice of the right role models that influence our lives – whether they are parents, influencers, fictional characters, or our own alter egos," says director Adam Kůs. "We aim to show young viewers how important it is not to adopt only foreign opinions and to think for themselves, so that we do not become soulless zombies." Producer Pavlína Křepelková emphasizes that the goal was to create a film that is not only entertaining: "We wanted to make a film that entertains, scares a little, and makes you laugh, but also carries something more. It was born from the desire to create a playful story from young people for young people, in which the exaggeration hides things we know from our own lives." The project involved mainly young filmmakers, often still students of film schools, which is reflected not only in the energy of the film but also in its authentic perspective on the current generation. The film "This Party is DEAD" will premiere in theaters on June 18, 2026. The film is produced by Zita Production and will be released by CinemArt.
