Celebration of the laying of the foundation stone of Charles Bridge and the 17th anniversary of the opening of the Charles Bridge Museum.
On July 9, 2025, at 5:31 a.m. at Křižovnické Square. On July 9, 2025, precisely at 5:31 a.m., we commemorate the magical moment of the laying of the cornerstone of Charles Bridge in 1357, which also took place on July 9, at 5:31 a.m. The celebration will begin with a procession of Charles IV across Charles Bridge. A medieval entourage of knights on horseback accompanying Emperor Charles IV will be complemented by numerous choirs of period musicians and dancers. From early morning, historians specializing in the history of Prague will present Charles Bridge in the context of the realities of the time, and artists will enhance the atmosphere with period performances. On this day, from 5 to 10 a.m., the museum will be open to visitors for free.
