The crime comedy was inspired by the true story of Jeffrey Manchester, who became famous for a series of sophisticated break-ins at McDonald's restaurants.
His life was worth nothing. But he was a good observer. He could notice insignificant details, established patterns, and imperfections in the system. He was also extraordinarily inventive, clever, and charming. And that hasn't really changed because he is still alive. The crime comedy "Uncatchable" is inspired by the true story of former American officer Jeffrey Manchester, who became famous for a series of refined break-ins at McDonald's restaurants, where he stealthily crept in through the roof, shocking both the police and the public with how long he managed to remain uncatchable. He hid where no one was looking – in a toy store. The star-studded film featuring Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst is about bad decisions, brilliant ideas, and love, which is the hardest to escape from, and will hit Czech cinemas on October 9, 2025.
Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum) could have been just another nameless thief driven to desperate acts by a dire situation. But he isn’t! So he has a record not only in the criminal registry but also on Wikipedia. Thanks to his cleverness, he managed to break into dozens of McDonald's across the States while remaining both uncatchable and charming at the same time. He treated the fast-food employees he robbed unusually politely. However, he didn't account for one thing in his clever planning in the safe hideout behind the walls of the giant toy store – that he might fall in love. His fateful encounter with Leigh (Kirsten Dunst) leads to Jeffrey's double life beginning to unravel, sparking a thrilling game of cat and mouse, where his past slowly catches up with him. "Director Derek Cianfrance has created a film that is an incredibly entertaining ride, gripping, emotional, and in a way funny," reveals Channing Tatum, who had to adhere to a strict exercise and diet regimen for the role, losing weight from 107 to 78 kg. His character is not just a criminal who has hit rock bottom; he is vulnerable inside and out. "A beautiful yet unhappy soul," says the actor. The filming was also a challenge for his co-star Kirsten Dunst, as "making a film that is sweet but not overly sweet, something so full of life where so many things can go wrong, is the hardest thing," adds the actress portraying Leigh. The star duo is joined by Peter Dinklage, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, and Uzo Aduba.
The crime comedy "Uncatchable" is full of emotions like life itself, as it was inspired by it. It’s about a man trying to hide from the law and from himself. About what happens when unexpected feelings enter the world of crime. And last but not least, it's about everyone who wants to escape from their own conscience.
