Vanda Hybnerová and Jan Révai play the leading roles in the first Czech theatrical adaptation of The Bridges of Madison County, presented by the Živá tvorba association in co-production with Výstaviště a.s. in the space of Nová Spirala. The troupe, known for its ability to combine strong emotions with captivating visual poetry, transforms the famous romance into an intense theatrical experience about desire, choice, and the courage to follow one's heart – emphasizing intimacy, raw emotions, and the sensitive connection between acting and modern technologies. In the adaptation by director Viktorie Čermáková, audiences can look forward to original music and the enhancement of the strong story through modern theatrical approaches such as video mapping, which fully utilize the unique space and technical possibilities of Nová Spirala. "The directorial concept is based on the contrast between a large arena and a purely intimate story with two characters, whose drama unfolds rather subdued and beneath the surface. We would like to talk about passion, love, hope, responsibility, and strong human characters, especially about women, on whom the world stands. And also about freedom, the last cowboys who do not like blood, and a bit about poetry," describes Viktorie Čermáková. Don't miss the fragile love and strong emotions experienced with all senses on the dates of May 16, 17, and 18. Additional performances are planned for September 19-21, October 18-19, and other autumn dates. "Staging a deep love story that has touched millions of hearts around the world is not a reckless step for me. It sounds daring at Nová Spirala, but it has always made sense to me. Even though I was discouraged from it from the beginning. It was not only experienced producers but also the director herself, whom I approached at the start. Nevertheless, I instinctively believed in The Bridges of Madison County. From the very beginning, when I entered the still-uncovered interiors of Nová Spirala, which was still undergoing reconstruction. To give this story the care it deserves thanks to modern technologies. And my dream? To make people believe in love. With this production, to provide them with that belief and show that even though it is just four days, a fleeting moment that can sometimes hurt, it is worth it," invites producer and composer Petra Horváthová from the Živá tvorba association.
