Khamoro – Romani for "sun" – shines for everyone. Every year at the end of May, it transforms Prague into a city full of music, emotions, and above all, mutual understanding. You can look forward to concerts of traditional Romani music, world-renowned gypsy jazz, and even classical music. And we also have a rich accompanying program! Theater performances, storytelling by witnesses, exhibitions, film screenings, and a children's day in the park – all for young and old visitors! About the festival The Khamoro Festival (Romani for "sun") is the largest professional Romani festival in the world. Since 1999, it has been organized in Prague by the organizations Slovo 21 and Studio Production Saga. During this time, more than 260 bands from 33 countries have performed – including world-famous supergroups like Mahala Rai Banda, Kočani Orkestar, and Parno Graszt. In addition to concerts by Romani bands from around the world, Khamoro also offers exhibitions, a children's day, storytelling by witnesses, film screenings, dance workshops, and expert conferences. Approximately 10,000 people from the Czech Republic and abroad visit the festival each year. The main purpose of Khamoro is to connect the Romani minority and the majority through art. Since its inception, the festival has been supported by Václav Havel, among others. Khamoro holds the prestigious EFFE Label – a European quality mark.
