Coffee and Cigarettes is a series of short films that together present themselves as a feature film (or vice versa). In each segment, several characters sit around, drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes, and debating a variety of topics such as caffeinated popsicles, Abbott & Costello, mysteries surrounding Elvis, the proper way to prepare tea, Nikola Tesla's inventions, the fictional rock band SQÜRL, Paris in the 1920s, and the use of nicotine as an insecticide... As for the cast, it features an extremely eclectic group of exceptional actors and musicians, representing an equally eclectic collection of oddballs.
