Celebrate Children's Day a little differently!
Come to the Smíchov waterfront, where an afternoon full of inspiration and good deeds awaits you. Non-profit and helping organizations will show in a fun way that even children and young people can meaningfully help others and the world. We look forward to seeing you! Where can you help? You will help make perches for the HMP RESCUE STATION FOR WILD ANIMALS, we are building a school in Zambia, showcasing a manual brick-making project that produces bricks in the shape of Lego. You will enjoy activities from the local branch of PEOPLE IN NEED, the PAVLA NOVOTNÝ FOUNDATION will brew coffee and present its diverse support for adult oncology patients, dance enthusiasts of all ages will be entertained by demonstrations from INDANCE instructors, DIAKONIE PRAHA will introduce its activities and offer a creative workshop. The ART GUT will show how high school students create art and what their gallery projects look like in Kobka 17. Programs from LATA TOSARA, Z. Ú., will introduce you to their work helping young people and families in challenging situations, prepare a game full of tasks through which you will symbolically help a disadvantaged child, and offer small crafts for the youngest. You will try intergenerational cooperation with MEZI NÁMI, O. P. S. and people from the HESTIA - CENTER FOR VOLUNTEERING, Z. Ú. will gladly help you choose the best path to volunteering and mentoring. The LIBCHAVŠTÍ CHLUPÁČI shelter farm will provide a vegan bistro. The CZECH SCOUTING UNION will offer crafting and games like Mölkky or Cornhole alongside their leisure activities. You can relax with a fairy tale screening from AEROŠKOLA addressing the issue of children who are alone in hospitals without family, highlighted by the ASSOCIATION AND FOUNDATION HAND IN HAND, Z. S. The BIBLIOBUS OSKAR will arrive with books and games, you will try various puzzles with the BOARD GAME CLUB PALUBA, and there will also be some cotton candy, a JUGGLING WORKSHOP by FIREJOKERS, face painting, stilts walking, and more fun, don’t worry! The event is co-organized by the City Library in Prague, the administrator of the Prague waterfronts Trade Centre Praha, a. s., and People in Need.

Prague Zoo welcomes new additions outside of its Troja area as well. After two Przewalski's horse foals born in the Gobi exhibit, a colt has also been born at Dívčí hrady. For the very first time, the herd of European bison in Prague's Dolní Počernice has expanded. These largest land mammals in Europe, which nearly went extinct in the past, have only inhabited the spacious enclosure since last autumn. Visitors have the best chance of seeing the calf around ten to eleven o'clock in the morning.
