Brittany and Normandy have enchanted more than one artist. Let's introduce both regions together, and you will see which one appeals to you more.
Brittany and Normandy represent neighboring regions that have much in common, yet could not be more different. Both are united by excellent gastronomy, offering the best of fish, seafood, local vegetables, and apples - let’s remember the world-famous camembert, renowned oysters, or savory and sweet pancakes complemented by spicy cider served in traditional ceramic bowls. The long sandy beaches of Normandy, only occasionally interrupted by rocky outcrops, invite swimming and do not reveal that one of the largest military operations in history took place right here. Away from the coast, Normandy maintains a refreshingly green, friendly face of gently rolling countryside with herds of cows and sheep. Brittany only shows this mild, friendly face inland. Its coastline at first glance resembles the landscape of the British Isles - clumps of heather and bushes of yellow gorse soften the treacherous rocks beneath which lie dangerous areas of underwater currents, where many ships have wrecked in wild waves. It is no wonder that the local coast boasts the highest concentration of lighthouses in the world. Both regions have much to offer in terms of landmarks - while Normandy is proud of the elegant Mont-Saint-Michel and the landing memorials, Brittany invites exploration of mysterious megalithic sites, picturesque villages of stone houses surrounded by clumps of hydrangeas, and splendid towns that owe their fame to privateers and maritime trade. Brittany and Normandy have also enchanted many an artist. Let’s introduce both regions together, and you will see which one appeals to you more.

FOR OLD MOBILE TO ZOO PRAGUE

Prague Zoo has prepared a special event for schoolchildren during the autumn holidays. Every child under 15 who hands in their old mobile phone for recycling at the main entrance will gain entry to the zoo on Friday, January 30, for just one koruna. The mining of rare metals like niobium and tantalum, which are key for mobile phone production, contributes to the deforestation of Central African rainforests. By recycling them, the pressure on local inhabitants – including pangolins, elephants, and gorillas – is reduced. Additionally, the Prague gorillas will have a special program on Friday.

Café Hein in the center of Prague is open daily from 9 AM to 9 PM.
